Notes: Open to the area of Dumfries and Galloway, but fleeces must not have been exhibited elsewhere.
Exhibitors must quote Wool Board Registration Number on Entry Form (not D.O.A.S. No.)
All finalists to be registered as wool producers.
The general rules of competition as set out in the 'Regulations' shall apply to the Wool Competition.
Fleeces shall be laid out in the Wool Area by 9.30 a.m. on Show Day. Each entry will be appraised and the Judge's score card will be affixed above each entry. Points will be awarded for style and character, uniformity of quality, strength, springiness, handle, colour, fibre fineness and particularly presentation. While weight may be taken into account by the Judge, this will not be an over-riding factor. Any artificially tinted or stained fleece will be disqualified. Fleeces will be unwashed.
